These are various Tunneler puppets that Andre Toulon (The Littlest Reich timeline) and his father Henri had built for their puppet performances in Paris and all around the world. The first known Tunneler puppet to have been built was around 1921 to 1931 and many of them were manufactured and sold to customers. During the late 1930's and the 1940's when World War II broke out, Toulon began to assist the Nazis in their Final Solution mission and would give life to his puppets so that they could seek out people that the Nazis saw as unfit and murder them.

After the war had ended Toulon had escaped to the United States, where he continued to build and manufacture more puppets, including Tunnelers and he would run a mail ordering service where he sold them to people from all over the world. He continued to do this up until his death in 1989. In 2018, a lot of his puppets, including the Tunneler puppets were all unleashed at a auction and killed most of the visitors there. The Tunneler puppets didn't murder as many people as some of the other puppets, but they did assist them by using their drills to make holes in the walls and ceilings so that their fellow puppets could enter a room and murder those inside.

Physical appearance

In Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich, there were multiple Tunnelers. Their face looked slightly different, it was much more thin and they no longer had a smirk. Their uniform was either black or blue and they also wore black gloves. Some of them had a red Swastika patch on their left arm and instead of a medal they had silver German Iron Cross buttons. There were other variants that looked like humanoid groundhogs with long claws, red eyes and wore a brown jacket with a blue scarf and a top hat that hid the drill.

Trivia

  • A scene where Tunneler falls from the ceiling and drills into a police officer's shoulder and kills him was cut from the movie as the drill kept malfunctioning. There is still behind the scenes clips and images of this scene in existence.
